The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Interactive Media Peer Group (IMPG) has announced that the deadline for submitting entries for the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media is April 30th.

Broadband and mobile video platform provider, Kyte, contacted [itvt] Tuesday to let us know that it has launched a new solution, called Kyte LivePro, which it says brings high-definition (1080p), professional-grade live streaming functionality to its platform. According to the company, Kyte LivePro, which is designed to be used in conjunction with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, is an add-on component for the Kyte platform that enables publishers to deliver HD live streaming video from multiple sources, including digital video cameras and professional mixing consoles.
--Viewers Invited to Vote for Breakthrough Performance of the Year
The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards will feature an interactive element this year. Starting today, viewers can go to a dedicated area of CBS's TV.com Web site (http://www.tv.com/breakthrough) to cast their vote for the "Breakthrough Performance of the Year" from clips of 15 performances that are available to view on the site. On Monday, September 14th, the field will be narrowed down to 10, and then the top three performances will be revealed during the September 20th Primetime Emmy's telecast on CBS, with the winner being announced at the end of the show. Voting will continue during the telecast itself.
--Deutsche Telekom Officially Launches its 2009 Interactive TV Award
The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has issued a call for entries for the 2010 International Digital Emmy Awards, which recognize excellence in programming and other content created and designed for viewer interaction and/or delivery on a digital platform (e.g. interactive TV, the Internet, mobile, etc.). The deadline for entries is November 2nd, 2009; nominations will be announced in early March, 2010; and the winners will be announced in April during an International Digital Emmy Awards Ceremony at MIPTV 2010 in Cannes, France.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on Thursday announced the nominees for the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media--and this year has turned out to be a very good one for NBC, whose projects represent five of the six nominees. This year marks the first time that Interactive Media Emmy finalists have received full-fledged nominee status.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said Wednesday that it has hired Web development company, Metal Toad, and creative agency, Playground Group, to spearhead a "user-friendly" redesign and expansion of its existing Web sites.
