Australian interactive TV company, Two Way Limited, said Wednesday that Tab Active--the interactive TV wagering service which it developed in partnership with Tabcorp Holdings and Foxtel, and which is available to Foxtel and Optus TV subscribers in New South Wales and Victoria--enjoyed its strongest performance to date in October.
According to the company, the service's turnover exceeded $6 million for the month, representing an increase of over 64% from the prior month. It attributed the strong performance to the impact of the Spring Racing Carnival and to a new marketing campaign that it is conducting for the service and that launched in early September.
The company says that over 7,000 Tabcorp wagering account holders placed at least one bet via the service during October, representing a 39% increase from September, and that the average size of bets placed through the service in October was AUS$9.61. On Melbourne Cup Day (November 3rd), it says, total log-ins to the service increased by almost 40% from the previous record level, which occurred on Derby Day (October 31st).
Since launch, Two Way Limited claims, over 17,600 Tabcorp account holders have placed at least one bet via the service, the total number of bets exceeds 5.4 million, and the total amount wagered exceeds $46 million.
