BSkyB has launched a video podcasting service that allows consumers to download video from Sky News directly to their iPod or multimedia player. The first program to be offered on the new service (which is accessed on Sky News’s Web site) is "7 days," a show devoted to the "lighter" news stories from the past week. In addition, BSkyB says that a library of video clips will soon be available for download, including clips from interviews on the show, "Sunday Live with Adam Boulton." "The launch of Sky News video podcasting follows the success of Sky Mobile TV in October last year and the new Sky by Broadband service today, and is part of Sky’s drive to give customers flexible and convenient ways to watch its services," Steve Bennedik, editor of Sky News Interactive, said in a prepared statement. "Now you can enjoy Sky News on your MP3 when and where you like."
