In a Form 8-K filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission Tuesday, Playboy Enterprises revealed that it has signed a VOD deal with Comcast: "Last week we signed an agreement with Comcast for distribution of our movies on that company’s VOD platforms and of Playboy TV as a SVOD service. We expect the roll out to begin this quarter," a paragraph in the form read. Neither Comcast nor Playboy has provided any additional information about their deal.
In related news: Players Network, a company that produces programming devoted to what it calls "the gaming lifestyle," has signed a multi-year agreement to offer its content on Comcast’s VOD service. The signing of the deal follows a trial period in which a limited selection of Players Network programming was available on-demand on 23 Comcast systems. Players Network will launch nationally on the "Select On Demand" section of Comcast’s VOD service on November 8th. Programming on offer will include talk shows, educational shows on poker and other games, and shows featuring celebrity gamblers.
