Radio: Calit2's New 3D Immersive Visualization System, NexCAVE

Earlier this week (see the article published on itvt.com, November 24th), [itvt] reported on how the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (note: generally known as Calit2, the institute is jointly run by the University of California, San Diego and the University of California, Berkeley) is using JVC's GD-463D10U 46-inch 3D HD LCD monitors as part of its new 3D immersive visualization system, NexCAVE (short for "new micropolarized panel-based cave automatic virtual environment").

In this recorded episode of [itvt]'s talk radio show, "Radio [i]tvt," the principal scientist behind NexCAVE, Tom DeFanti (who, in addition to serving as a research scientist at Calit2's UC San Diego division, is distinguished professor emeritus of computer science at the University of Illinois at Chicago), and Dave Walton, JVC's assistant VP of marketing communications, discuss the NexCAVE system and its significance.
