UK-based interactive media company, Two Way Media (note: the
company, which was originally called Two Way TV, recently
rebranded, in order, it said, to "reflect its status as a company focused
on creating and distributing cross-media TV shows and games"), has
formed a partnership with Latin American mobile content and SMS
specialist, NetPeople, to distribute its participation-TV game shows
across that region. The first deal to result from the companies' new
partnership is with Panamanian channel, Tele7, which is owned by
MedCom: since last month, the channel has been airing localized
versions of Two Way Media game shows, including "Hangit?" and
"Rompecoco," in the 10-11:00PM slot. "It is natural for us to look at
exporting our popular TV game shows into new international markets,"
Two Way Media's sales director, James Turner, said in a prepared
statement. "This new partnership with experienced mobile content
specialist, NetPeople, is the perfect opportunity to bring our fun and
unique games to a new and substantial audience who are already keen
users of interactive TV."

Using SMS/IVR participation can deliver much more than just revenue on a short term; when properly researched, tailored and designed it can raise viewer numbers, increase traffic to an assigned site, increase customer loyalty and much more.
