Vivi Zigler Promoted to President of NBC Universal Digital Entertainment

NBC Universal has promoted Vivi Zigler to president of its NBC
Universal Digital Entertainment arm. In her new post, Zigler will "lend
her support and expertise" to all NBC Universal's entertainment Web
sites, the company says, though "oversight of the Web sites will
continue to report into their respective business leaders."
Zigler will
also continue to oversee the NBC Universal Digital Studio (note: the
latter is tasked with developing and producing "brand-centric" digital
content, including both episodic programming and what NBCU
describes as "deep interactive experiences," distributing them across the
company's various digital properties, and also finding and developing
quality digital programming into which advertiser brands can be
"organically integrated") and NBC Digital Entertainment, including
NBC.com. "Vivi has transitioned NBC.com from a largely promotional
site to a significant revenue-generating business in a very short time,"
Marc Graboff, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal
Media Studios, said in a prepared statement. "Her expertise in many
different areas of the television business is invaluable in the expanding
digital entertainment business."

Since August, 2006, Zigler has served as EVP of NBC Digital
Entertainment and New Media, where, according to NBC Universal,
she was responsible for leading the NBC.com team in strategic efforts
to connect NBC's primetime, latenight and daytime programs to
Internet users: under her leadership, NBC Universal says, NBC.com's
traffic and profitability increased significantly. She added the NBC
Universal Digital Studio, which is headed by Cameron Death, to her
portfolio last April. She has also served as EVP of current programs for
NBC Entertainment (where she oversaw the production of NBC's slate
of comedy and drama series); as SVP of marketing and advertising
services for The NBC Agency (in which role she was also responsible
for the branding and marketing of Bravo); as SVP of advertising
services for The NBC Agency; and as VP of affiliate advertising and
promotion services for NBC Entertainment. Prior to joining NBC,
Zigler was director of marketing and advertising at KING5 Television
in Seattle. She holds a Bachelor of Science in journalism from
California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.

In related news: NBC has named Jamila Hunter to the newly
created position of SVP of programming and
development--alternative and digital--for NBC Entertainment. She
will report to Zigler and to Craig Plestis, EVP of alternative
programming, development and specials, and will be responsible
for developing alternative programming, while working with NBC
Digital Entertainment. Her portfolio of responsibilities will include
overseeing Web-based series development and distribution projects
and ancillary business development for NBC's Web properties.
Hunter served most recently as VP of comedy development at 20th
Century Fox Television, in which role she was responsible for
developing and overseeing new comedies for network TV and for
fostering relationships with creative talent. Prior to that, she served
as VP of development and production at Bravo, where she was part
of the team that rebranded the channel and launched such shows
as "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and "Project Runway." Her
resume also includes stints as VP of alternative programs for NBC
Entertainment, as director of alternative programs for the
broadcaster, and as its director of movies and miniseries. She holds
a BA in English from Spelman College.
