Playboy Enterprises has appointed interactive TV industry veteran, Tom Hagopian, as division EVP and general manager for digital media. He will report to Bob Meyers, EVP and president of media, will be based in New York, and will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, strategic development and management of the company’s global online and mobile businesses. Hagopian, 48, was most recently SVP and general manager of programming and advertising at OpenTV. Prior to that, he worked at Gemstar-TV Guide, serving as president of TV Guide Online and COO of TV Guide Data Solutions; and prior to that, he served as VP of interactive products at Cablevision. He also spent a 10-year stint at ESPN, serving, among other things, as general manager of ESPN.com. He has a bachelor of business administration from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Columbia University. He is a board member of the Interactive Television Alliance and a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "Tom’s depth and breadth of experience across diverse media platforms will be an enormous asset to our Media Group," Meyers said in a prepared statement. "Online and mobile are major growth opportunities for the Playboy brand, and Tom will drive our strategic vision to optimize their potential."
