WideOpenWest (WOW) Deploys Integra5's Caller-ID Application

--Deployment is Integra5's Largest To Date

Wideopenwestlogo2007 Integra5, a Burlington, Massachusetts-based company that specializes in technologies for converged services, says that WideOpenWest (WOW), a triple-play cable company that operates networks in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio, has deployed its TV Caller ID application, which is powered by Integra5's flagship i5 Converged Services Platform, throughout its market footprint. The application, which WOW is offering for $2 per month to customers who subscribe to both its digital cable and VoIP services, displays the names and numbers of Integra5logo2007 incoming callers on up to three TV sets in a home before the phone actually rings. "As the largest customer we have announced to date, WOW's TV Caller ID deployment provides further evidence of a trend we're seeing across our business--the adoption of converged services by top service providers," Integra5 CEO, Meredith Flynn-Ripley, said in a prepared statement. "Integra5 is uniquely suited to support this evolution. Providing an intelligent network layer that is scalable to millions of subscribers and enabling the rapid rollout of i5 pre-packaged or third-party applications, only the i5 CSP offers limitless opportunities to go beyond the bundle to cement customer loyalty and generate new revenue streams."

According to Integra5, its i5 CSP, which is IMS-compatible, features patented technology and allows service providers to quickly deliver real-time, converged communications and content across triple- and quad-play services (i.e. voice, video, data and wireless) to any IP device, including TV's and PC's. The company says that the platform incorporates a network- and standards-based distributed architecture that provides the processing performance needed for real-time delivery and management of signals and information between data, phone (PSTN and IP), cable TV (both traditional and IPTV) and cellular networks.

In order to offer TV Caller ID, WOW deployed the i5 CSP--whose other customers include Comporium, EATEL, Everest, Foothills Telephone Cooperative, Hargray Communications and Knology--at its headend, where, according to Integra5, it recognizes incoming calls, creates the corresponding display information, and delivers it to the appropriate subscriber's TV set. The TV Caller ID app allows end-users to use their remotes to access various menu options, including a "Call Log" feature that shows a list of incoming calls (including the caller's name and number, and the time and date of the call); and a "Telephony Control Panel" that modifies the duration of the application's display on the TV screen.
