Comcast has teamed with the Philadelphia Police Department on a VOD service, called "Police Blotter," which is designed to help the police locate fugitives and missing persons. (Note: Comcast also recently launched a similar service, called "Fugitive Files On Demand," in partnership with the Maryland State Police.) The service--which is located on the "Get Local" section of Comcast's VOD menu--features regularly updated profiles of individuals who have been placed on the Philadelphia PD's Most Wanted List, together with information on how viewers with knowledge of the profiled individuals can contact the police; it also feature programs on children and adults in Philadelphia who have been reported as missing. "Introducing Police Blotter On Demand is another way Comcast is using our technology to make a difference in our local communities," Comcast EVP, David Cohen, said in a prepared statement. "With the ability to access these profiles 24/7, our customers will have the opportunity to provide any tips or information that may assist the police as they protect and serve the public."
