CBS Holds Casting Calls for New Online Reality Series, "Hook Me Up"

US broadcast network, CBS, recently held open casting calls in Los Angeles and Boston for a new online reality series that will run on its advertising-supported broadband TV service, innertube (note: innertube features a range of original series designed for broadband TV, including "InTurn," "Animate This!" and a five-day-per-week talk show, "House Calls"; it also offers full episodes of a number of primetime shows). Entitled "Hook Me Up," the new series will follow four singles through a series of dates with four suitors: each five-minute episode will feature one of the contestants going on a date with one of his or her four suitors; following the episode, viewers will be able to decide which suitors come back for another date, as the pool is whittled down from four to one. "As the dating experience of each contestant comes to an end," CBS says, "another one will start on their quest for love." The show also contains an element of surprise, in that each suitor has a secret that will be revealed at the end of each dating cycle. Three episodes of the show, which is sponsored by Dentyne and Sony Ericsson, will be available on CBS.com each week.
