Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) has appointed Tamara Franklin as VP of business development. According to the company, she will be tasked with developing and executing non-linear platform distribution for its media properties across broadband, interactive TV and wireless--though her primary focus will be on wireless initiatives. Franklin, who is based in Atlanta and who will report to Dennis Quinn, TBS's EVP of business development, was previously director of new business development and strategic marketing at Motorola, where she managed the team responsible for the identification and development of new business and partnerships for the company's iDEN division. Her achievements at Motorola include the launch of Boost Mobile, a brand focused on providing premium communications products and services to the youth market, and currently owned by Sprint Nextel. She holds a BA in English from Yale and an MBA from Harvard.
