Broadband TV infrastructure company, Narrowstep (note: the company’s technology powers a number of high-profile broadband TV services, including the ITV Local service of UK commercial terrestrial broadcaster, the Independent Television Network), which recently appointed a new CEO, Steve Beaumont, has now named a new interim CFO, Jill Thoerle. She replaces Steve Crowther, who left the company June 29th. "Our financial stability is due in great part to the work carried out by Steve Crowther and his team, for which we are grateful," Beaumont said in a prepared statement. "This groundwork provides the company with the security to move forward with our plan for a dynamic and progressive team focused on sales and customer service."
According to Narrowstep, Thoerle has over 20 years’ experience as an advisor and executive in the telecommunications and high-tech industries. Among other things, she served as acting CFO and board director at digital media distribution company, Mediaport. She also provided various mergers-and-acquisition and corporate finance services to a series of companies through REO Group, a consulting firm she co-founded. From 2001 through 2004, she was engaged by Cerberus Capital Management, a $15 billion hedge fund, where, according to Narrowstep, she provided investment and turnaround services for portfolio companies in the media, technology and communications sectors. In 1999 she founded telecommunications services company, OnTera Broadband, subsequently serving as its president and CEO. From 1996 through 1999, she was VP of corporate strategy and new business development at AT&T, where she led efforts to start and develop international businesses, and created and launched the company’s "alternate" brand, ACC. She holds a bachelor’s degree from City College of New York and a master’s degree from Columbia.
