VOD and IPTV technology provider, Kasenna, has appointed two new directors to its board: its co-founder and former CTO, Satish Menon, and Howard Bubb, chairman and CEO of fabless semiconductor start-up, Ambric. The company says that Menon will also lead its Technical Advisory Board. Menon, who holds three patents and has several pending, founded Kasenna in January, 2000, by spinning off SGI’s Broadband Media Division into a separate, venture-funded company. As Kasenna CTO, he oversaw development of the company’s video delivery platform and its PortalTV IPTV solution. Prior to founding the company, he was director of engineering for SGI’s Software Technology Group. He holds a doctorate in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bubb, who joined Ambric last May, was previously a VP at Intel and, prior to that, general manager of the Communications Infrastructure Group. Before that, he was president and CEO of computer telephony company, Dialogic. He also held senior positions at Lexar’s Telenova subsidiary, United Technologies, Memorex and Telex. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
