AT&T in Broadband VOD Deal with TotalVid.com

Totalvidhomepage2006 AT&T has signed an agreement with TotalVid.com, a video content aggregator that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Landmark Communications, under which the telco is offering TotalVid.com’s library of around 2,600 instructional and entertainment-oriented video titles (in such categories as action sports, anime, cooking, fitness, home improvement, martial arts, music, sports and travel) to customers of its AT&T Yahoo! high-speed Internet access service and of its AT&T Worldnet dial-up Internet access service. The deal sees the companies launching a co-branded Web site (att.totalvid.com) that offers AT&T customers unlimited free video downloads for a seven-day trial period. After that, customers will have the choice of paying $9.95 a month for a TotalVid.com subscription or of ordering individual videos for $1.99 and up (once a video is downloaded, customers can view it as often as they like within a seven-day period). The companies are also marketing TotalVid.com’s content on the AT&T Worldnet portal. "TotalVid offers our customers an exciting array of content that hasn’t traditionally been available through television or retail video stores," Scott Helbing, chief marketing officer for AT&T Consumer, said in a prepared statement. "We continue to look for ways in which we can deliver quality entertainment to AT&T customers faster and easier, and TotalVid is helping us achieve that goal."
