David Zaslav to Lead NBC Universal’s New Media Efforts

NBC Universal has put David Zaslav in charge of its new media efforts. Zaslav, who was previously president of NBC Universal Cable, will now have the (somewhat unwieldy) title, "president of NBC Universal Cable and domestic TV and new media distribution." He will be responsible, among other things, for TV electronic sell-through (i.e. for sales of the company’s programming on iTunes and other new platforms), for TV wireless distribution, and for windowing strategy (i.e. for deciding how and when TV content should be released over various platforms). He will be charged with working closely with Beth Comstock and her Digital Media team on TV EST and wireless initiatives, and with the Universal Pictures team on TV distribution of films. He will continue to report to Randy Falco, the president and COO of the NBC Universal Television Group.
