AFDESI Announces Winners of its 2006 International ITV Awards

The French Association for Interactive Television (generally known by
its French acronym, AFDESI) has announced the winners of its 2006
International ITV Awards:

  • The award for Best Enhanced TV Program went to Cross Media (The Interactive Channel, Hong Kong). The other nominees were MTV Ticscreenshot2006
    Gorillaz (Ensequence, USA), Probe (MediaCity, Finland), and Sky
    Meteo 24 Active (Sky Italia, Italy).
  • The award for Best Standalone Service went to V:MX (HomeChoice,
    UK). The other nominees were MP9 (Sesam TV, France), Reuters ITV News Channel (Reuters, USA), and TV3i (TV Catalunya, Spain).
  • The award for Best Game went to Xtreamplay (NDS, UK). The other
    nominees were Cash TV (NewScreens, France), Mini Kids (Visiware,
    France), and Sky Gamestar (BSkyB, UK).
  • The award for Best Advertising Marketing Service went to Lynx
    Speed Dating (Phosphorus, UK). The other nominees were
    www.Living.com (EAT.TV, USA), Hewlett-Packard DAL
    (Ensequence, USA), and MusiCard (TV-Card, France).
  • Ndsyesxtreamplay2006The award for Best Innovation and Technology went to Xtreamplay
    (NDS, UK). The other nominees were InSTEP (BBC, UK), and
    Microsoft TV (Microsoft, USA).
  • The award for Best Design and Graphics went to www.Living.com
    (EAT.TV, USA). The other nominees were Comedia (Iwedia, France), and Xtreamplay (NDS, UK).
  • The award for ITV on Mobile went to Facing TV (Softhouse,
    Sweden). The other nominees were Coast Mobile Interactive (BBC,
    UK), and ESG for Mobile TV (Expway, France).
  • The award for Best Call TV Service went to Quizmania
    (FremantleMedia, UK).
  • The award for Best ITV Audiovisual Work went to Babel TV
    (Enjmin, France).
  • The Special Committee Prize went to "Norway" (Ruwido, Austria).
  • The [itvt] European Leadership Award (note: this award is an
    extension of the [itvt] Awards for Leadership in Interactive Television)
    went to the BBC (UK). The other nominees were Channel 4 (UK),
    Flextech (UK), ITV (UK), NDS (UK), NPTV (France), and Weapon7
    (UK).
  • The Grand Prix went to V:MX (HomeChoice).

The awards, now in their fourth year, were presented on April 4th in a
ceremony at the Grand Hotel Majestic in Cannes, during the MIP TV
show. The ceremony was hosted by TV presenter, Beverly French and
Jean-Michel Blottiere, CEO of France’s NX Publishing.
