Los Gatos, Calif.-based ICTV (note: the company is best known for its HeadendWare platform, which uses headend-based processing to deliver complex interactive applications, including apps with full-motion video and high-quality audio, to thin-client set-top boxes) has appointed Mark Jeffery as senior director of product marketing. His responsibilities will include increasing HeadendWare's visibility in the cable and IPTV sectors, as well as introducing the platform to new video and advertising markets. He will also oversee marketing and communications activities for ICTV and its ICTV International subsidiary.
Jeffery was previously director of product marketing and partner development at Terayon Communications, where, according to ICTV, he was responsible for overseeing the product definition, development and strategic marketing of that company's entire line of digital video products. Prior to that, he held various marketing and product marketing positions at VOD technology provider, Kasenna: while at that company, he led corporate branding initiatives, and was responsible for OEM video server sales, product launches, worldwide sales support and technical training efforts. Prior to that, he was senior product manager for Silicon Graphics' MediaBase product, and held product management positions at Site Technologies and Etak. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. "ICTV's unique ability to offer personalized television and telescoping advertising opportunities across the entire base of deployed set-top boxes will be a significant advantage for service providers in the new media environment," ICTV president and CEO, Jeff Miller, said in a prepared statement. "Mark Jeffery's broad base of video expertise and his successful track record in working with service providers on the adoption of new technologies in his previous positions made him an ideal choice for this position."
