NBC Universal's arts, entertainment and pop culture channel, Bravo, has appointed Lisa Hsia as SVP of new media and special projects, giving her responsibility for identifying programming opportunities for the channel on new and emerging media platforms. According to Bravo, she will facilitate business initiatives, including wireless, digital, home video, international and ancillary rights, and will also develop and initiate original programming and "stay on top of" external opportunities for programming in the digital realm.
Hsia was previously VP of NBC News, where, among other things, she had executive oversight over NBC's primetime news programming and its "Today" and "NBC News" productions. Prior to that, she was a senior producer for the show, "Dateline NBC." Her career history also includes stints as a producer for ABC News's "Prime Time Live," and as a public television producer. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard, and, among other achievements, has won six Emmy awards.
