Minerva Enhances its iTV Manager Platform

–Demo’s its Interoperability with Multiple CA/DRM, STB and VOD Products

IPTV middleware provider, Minerva Networks, has made a number of enhancements to its iTV Manager platform. Most significantly, the new iTV Manager software release, which is available immediately, supports PVR and HDTV; other enhancements include SVOD support (for such services as HBO On Demand and Starz On Demand), unlimited category support for VOD and SVOD assets (this feature is intended to make it easier for end-users to find the content they want), set-top box auto provisioning (automates the process of provisioning set-top boxes), and a variety of security features (prevent unauthorized set-tops from accessing an IPTV network) and administrative tools. Minerva says that it is the first IPTV middleware vendor to support HDTV capabilities on Amino’s AmiNET 120 set-top box, and to support PVR with Dual-Recording Mode on the Amino AmiNET 500 (note: the Dual-Recording Mode feature allows end-users to watch, pause and play live TV while recording another channel in the background). At the IBC show in Amsterdam last week, Minerva demo’d the integration of the new version of iTV Manager with a range of CA/DRM, set-top box and VOD technologies. The demos took place in the booths of: CA/DRM software providers, Widevine, Latens and Irdeto Access; set-top box vendors, Amino, i3 micro and Thomson; and VOD technology providers, Bitband and C-COR.
