Cambridge, UK-based IPTV set-top box vendor, Amino Communications, says is tripling its office space in the US, as a result of rapid sales growth and the corresponding need to expand its US workforce. The company, which founded a wholly owned US subsidiary last year and which currently employs 10 staff in the US (it says it will shortly be hiring more)--moved to a new, 5,000-square-foot facility in Atlanta, Georgia on August 15th. The company claims that, at the end of May, it had a backlog of 328,000 set-top boxes; that it had 11 customers, each of which had deployments of more than 10,000 units; and that its products had been adopted for field trials by 144 operators around the world. "We have experienced tremendous success in the US in the year or so since we established our presence here," Amino CEO, Roy Kirsopp, said in a prepared statement. "However, to cope with this ever-increasing demand and offer full applications and customer support, we need to take on a lot more staff. When Amino opened its Atlanta offices in May 2004 it had a staff of just three which has now risen to ten, so the move is essential." Amino's US customers include SureWest, Iowa Network Services, UTOPIA, and Pioneer Telephone.
