Video Networks--the company which operates the ADSL-based IPTV service, HomeChoice, in London and Stevenage, and which, until recently was one of only two companies in the UK to offer VOD (the other was Kingston Interactive Television)--has added a series of enhancements to the service. Among other things, HomeChoice's "My TV Zone," which allows users to customize their experience of the service, has been expanded to incorporate program reminders, a help channel, lists of favorite channels and movie rentals, and personal playlists for the service's hybrid linear/VOD music channel, V:MX. Other changes include a seven-day advanced EPG, an enhanced program information button, a new timebar that appears when customers are watching VOD content, and "freeplays" that give customers a free preview of selected channels before they subscribe to them (when customers select a channel to which they are not subscribed, they are presented with the options of subscribing to it or viewing a freeplay).
