--PlayJam Developing ITV Game for UEFA Cup Soccer Tournament
As [itvt] reported in Issue 6.15 Part 3, UK commercial terrestrial broadcaster, Five, is planning to trial interactive TV games from several companies on its ITV service, before selecting an exclusive ITV games partner. A selection of four games from Paris-based Visiware has already launched on the service. Now [itvt] has learned that the other companies that will shortly launch games on the service are Zone4Play and OpenTV-subsidiary, PlayJam. "We are developing a soccer game to tie in with Five's exclusive coverage of the UEFA cup soccer tournament, commencing September," PlayJam general manager, Mickey Kalifa, told [itvt] in an email. "The game will be hosted on Five, and accessible from Five during the tournament matches--and indeed 24/7--by going to Five's ITV service using the red button. Five is trialing ITV games with three suppliers. At the end of the trial period (roughly three months), Five will decide which of the participants in the trial it will offer the deal to."
