Ex-Starz SVOD Chief, Greg DePrez, Joins EGT

Greg DePrez has left Starz Entertainment Group, where he headed up the company's SVOD operations, for Atlanta-based digital video technology start-up, EGT. He will head up the latter's newly formed Emerging Applications business unit, which will be based in Denver, and which will develop digital video applications, including apps designed to support VOD and digital advertising. Until now, EGT has focused on developing software-based video encoders. "EGT has developed an enviable reputation for creating leading edge video processing software and packaging it in efficient platforms," DePrez said in a prepared statement. "The company is positioned to add value to anyone doing digital video compression and distribution, VOD, and interactive TV. I look forward to working with the entire EGT team to grow the Emerging Applications business unit."
